In her filing, Angelina Jolie stated that she give full control of the Miraval residence to Brad Pitt following their separation, adding that she and her children ‘have never again set foot’ on the property since.

Angelina Jolie has described her divorce from Brad Pitt as “emotionally difficult,” revealing new details about the period following their separation and their dispute over the Château Miraval estate in France. The comments were made in a recent declaration filed at the Los Angeles Superior Court, part of the former couple’s ongoing legal battle over ownership of the property. According to Page Six, Jolie submitted the statement in response to Pitt’s demand that she turn over private communications related to the Miraval dispute. The actor also requested that Pitt cover $33,000 in legal fees, which she said she was forced to incur in responding to his motion.In her declaration, Angelina Jolie explained that after filing for divorce, she give control of both their Los Angeles home and Château Miraval to Brad Pitt, hoping it would ease tensions. “The events leading to my need to separate with my ex husband were emotionally difficult for me and our children.

 I left him control of our family homes in Los Angeles and at Miraval, without compensation, which I hoped would make him calmer in his dealings with me after a difficult and traumatic period,” she said.

The Oscar winning actor said she and her six children, Maddox (24), Pax (21), Zahara (20), Shiloh (19), and twins Knox and Vivienne (17)    “have never again set foot” at Miraval because of its “connection to the painful events leading to the divorce.” After the separation, Jolie said she “immediately began to look for a new house for me and our children, initially renting a home while looking for a more stable solution.”

Brad Pitt sued Angelina Jolie after she sold her stake in Miraval to the Stoli Group’s wine division, claiming she did so without his consent. Jolie has maintained that she did not require his approval to proceed with the sale. She said that her savings were “tied up in Miraval,” and that she needed access to those funds as she had not sought “alimony or any other financial support” from Pitt.
